Naturopathic Medicine

  • During the initial visit, naturopathic doctors aim to gather as much relevant information as possible to create a comprehensive understanding of the patient's health. This assessment involves taking a thorough health history, discussion of current health concerns, relevant physical exams, and often ordering lab testing. Testing might include:

    • Screening tests for general markers of health

    • Advanced condition-specific laboratory testing

    • Testing for nutrient deficiencies

    • Fertility testing & NIPT

    • DUTCH comprehensive hormone testing

    • Food sensitivity testing

    • Gastrointestinal and microbiome testing

  • A wide range of gynecological testing is offered in clinic, including:

    • Fertility testing

    • NIPT (non-invasive prenatal testing) (as early as 10 weeks gestation)

    • Advanced gynecological exams

    • PAP testing

    • HPV testing

    • STI testing

    • Yeast infection & BV testing

    • Clinical breast exams

  • Part of the beauty of naturopathic medicine is the ability to create a tailored treatment plan for each unique patient that both addresses current symptoms, as well as the root cause of disease. Treatment plans are often multifactorial, involving various modalities such as nutrition and lifestyle modifications, pharmaceutical and nutraceutical prescriptions, IV therapy, vitamin injections, acupuncture, and botanicals. The treatment plan will be catered to your specific needs and preferences with the aim of being comprehensive, yet manageable. It will also be flexible, and we will periodically reassess how things are going to ensure the plan evolves with the state of your health.

  • Pharmaceutical prescriptions: Naturopathic Physicians in BC with pharmaceutical prescribing rights are able to prescribe a wide range of medications.

Targeted supplementation (vitamins, minerals, nutraceuticals, and botanicals) can also be a useful addition in many care plans.

Pharmaceutical prescriptions and/or supplementation may be used depending on your individual needs. We will pick and chose what works best for you!

  • IV (Intravenous) therapy involves safely delivering fluids, vitamins, minerals, and other nutrients directly into the bloodstream. Nutrient IV therapy provides a concentrated blend of nutrients to support overall health, boost immunity, aid recovery, and address deficiencies. IVs offer efficient nutrient absorption and are customized to individual needs for enhanced health support across a wide range of women’s health concerns, including infertility.

Iron infusion IVs specifically target iron deficiency anemia by rapidly replenishing iron levels to improve symptoms like fatigue and weakness. Often only 1-2 treatments are needed to completely replenish iron levels and they can be a great option when oral supplementation is not sufficient.

  • IM (intra-muscular) injections involve safely delivering vitamins and custom nutrient combinations directly into muscle tissue. They offer rapid absorption, bypassing digestion, and are most commonly used to address deficiencies (e.g., vitamin D & vitamin B12) and boost energy (e.g., B12, B complex). Custom combinations can also be used for other health concerns such as to aid in weight loss. They provide a convenient and effective way to deliver essential nutrients directly into the body, promoting overall health, addressing deficiencies, and supporting specific health goals.

  • Acupuncture is a personalized therapy that offers relaxation and holistic healing. By targeting specific points on the body, it promotes relaxation, reduces stress, and supports overall well-being. This gentle therapy utilizes fine needles to encourage the body's natural healing mechanisms, providing a calming and rejuvenating experience. It is often used in conjunction with fertility treatments as a safe way to enhance care.

Skin & Aesthetics

  • Coming in February 2024…

Neuromodulators, also commonly known as Botox, are proteins that relax muscles causing wrinkles, resulting in a smoother appearance. They function by interrupting the nerve-to-muscle message, inducing a relaxed look. Administered through tiny injections into targeted muscles, the maximum effect typically manifests within 10 to 14 days post-treatment, lasting up to 4 months.

    Areas I commonly treat include:

    • Frown and forehead lines

    • Crow's feet

    • Eyebrow lift

    • Lip flip

    • Dimple chin

    • Masseter muscles (facial slimming)

Treatment plans are uniquely customized to help achieve a refreshed and youthful look while preserving your natural beauty and addressing specific aesthetic concerns.

  • SkinPen Microneedling creates tiny micro channels in the upper skin layers, promoting the generation of collagen and elastin, which contributes to a renewed skin base. This can effectively tackle issues such as acne scars, fine lines & wrinkles, hyperpigmentation (such as melasma or sunspots), and improves the general tone, texture, and complexion of skin.

SkinPen microneedling typically involves 3 to 6 sessions, however even a single session has impacts that last up to 1 year. This treatment stands out due to its significant impact while having minimal post-treatment downtime. This advanced technique triggers skin revitalization without extended recovery periods, providing clients with a rejuvenated, smoother skin texture.

  • Often skin concerns are a manifestation of our body’s internal health, which is why a comprehensive analysis is critical prior to treatment. Comprehensive Skin Analysis begins with inspecting the areas of concern, followed by a thorough health history & intake where we will dive into the general state of your health to better understand the cause of your skin concerns. Lab testing will likely be ordered to assist with accurate diagnosis and targeted treatment.

Treatment plans may include topical products, targeted treatments such as chemical peels and/or microneedling, lifestyle & nutrition counselling, pharmaceutical prescriptions, nutraceutical supplementation, or botanicals.

  • A Gua Sha facial is a traditional Chinese skincare technique where the skin is gently massaged with a jade gua sha facial tool. This gentle motion helps stimulate circulation, promote lymphatic drainage, and relax facial muscles. It's designed to reduce puffiness, increase blood flow, and encourage a radiant complexion by easing tension and enhancing the skin's natural glow. During the facial, specific products will be used based on your individual skin needs and acupuncture is included during the treatment to create a holistic and relaxing experience.

  • Red light therapy utilizes low-level wavelengths of red light to penetrate the skin, stimulating cellular function and promoting healing. This non-invasive treatment boosts collagen production, reduces inflammation, and enhances skin rejuvenation. It can help address various skin concerns such as fine lines, wrinkles, acne scars, and promotes an overall healthier complexion. The therapy is painless and can be added on to facials or microneedling for optimal results.
